FAQ

BRANDING SERVICES

  • Branding goes beyond a logo or a visual identity.

It is the process of defining what a business stands for, how it is perceived, what makes it different, and how it communicates with the people it seeks to serve.

At Raw Satama, branding encompasses strategy, positioning, language, and visual identity—working together as one cohesive system.

  • Possibly.

Many businesses have a logo without having a brand. A logo can identify a business, but it cannot define its positioning, messaging, differentiation, or perception on its own. If your business struggles to communicate what makes it unique, branding may be the missing piece.

  • We work with founders, businesses, and projects that value intentionality, differentiation, and long-term brand building.

While we have a particular affinity for lifestyle, beauty, fragrance, fashion, hospitality, and wellness brands, we welcome projects from a variety of industries when the vision aligns.

  • Each branding project is developed through five core stages:

    • Research

    • Mythos

    • Language

    • Positioning

    • Creative Direction

Together, these stages establish both the strategic and visual foundations of the brand.

  • No.

Logo design is one component of a larger identity system. Our work focuses on building brands from the inside out, ensuring that every visual element is supported by clear strategy and positioning.

  • Timelines vary depending on scope and complexity.

Most branding projects take between 4–8 weeks, though larger engagements may require additional time for research, development, and refinement.

  • AI is a powerful tool, one even I use in the Atelier like a second brain.

Branding, however, relies on discernment, strategy, context, and human understanding.

While technology can assist with execution, meaningful brands are built through judgment, positioning, and intentional decision-making.

  • Raw Satama is best suited for businesses seeking more than aesthetics alone.

If you're looking to build a brand with depth, distinction, and a clear point of view, we may be a good fit.

If you're simply looking for a quick logo, there are likely better—and faster—options available.

  • The process begins with an inquiry.

Tell us about your project, where it currently stands, and where you'd like it to go. From there, we'll determine whether we're the right fit and recommend the most appropriate path forward.

  • A well-built brand influences perception long before a customer experiences a product or service.

It shapes trust, recognition, memorability, and differentiation.

While design is what people see, branding is what gives it meaning—and meaning is what people remember.

Retainers

  • A branding project establishes the foundation.

A retainer supports what comes next.

Once a brand launches, new needs inevitably emerge: campaigns, presentations, packaging, digital assets, social content, creative direction, and strategic refinement.

A retainer allows us to address these needs as they arise while preserving consistency across every touchpoint.

  • Retainers are ideal for:

    • Growing businesses

    • Established brands

    • Founders who require ongoing creative support

    • Marketing teams seeking an external creative partner

    • Businesses launching products, campaigns, or new initiatives regularly

If your brand requires continuous design and strategic thinking throughout the year, a retainer may be the most efficient solution.

  • Depending on your needs, retainer support may include:

    • Creative Direction

    • Graphic Design

    • Brand Asset Development

    • Social Media Design

    • Campaign Visuals

    • Packaging Updates

    • Presentation Design

    • Website Refinements

    • Brand Consultation

    • Visual Consistency Reviews

Every retainer is tailored to the needs of the brand.

  • Retainers operate through a predetermined monthly allocation of creative hours.

This allows us to prioritize requests, plan workload effectively, and ensure consistent support throughout the engagement.

The exact allocation varies depending on the scope and needs of each client.

  • A retainer provides continuity.

Because we already understand your brand, audience, goals, and visual system, we can work more efficiently and strategically than if we were approaching every request as a completely new project.

The result is greater consistency, stronger creative output, and less time spent re-explaining your business.

  • No.

While design is often a significant component, retainers can also include strategic guidance, creative consultation, brand stewardship, and ongoing refinement of existing systems.

Our role extends beyond creating assets—we help ensure the brand continues to evolve intentionally.

  • Retainers are designed as ongoing partnerships.

Some clients engage for a few months to support a specific launch or growth phase, while others maintain long-term relationships as an extension of their internal team.

  • No.

Retainers provide priority access and dedicated creative support, but they are still bound by the monthly allocation established at the beginning of the engagement.

This ensures realistic timelines, sustainable quality, and thoughtful execution.

  • Because brands are not built in a single moment.

They grow through consistent decisions, repeated signals, and ongoing refinement.

A retainer ensures that every new touchpoint—from a campaign launch to a presentation deck—continues to strengthen the same story, rather than slowly diluting it.

  • Building a brand is one achievement. Maintaining its integrity is another.

An Atelier Retainer provides access to ongoing strategic and creative support from the same studio that understands the foundations, language, and visual ecosystem of your brand.

So as your business evolves, your brand can evolve with it—without losing sight of what made it distinctive in the first place.

other questions you might have thought about

  • Projects and all services can be delivered in both English and Spanish.

  • Absolutely.

Raw Satama works with clients both within Mexico and internationally. Most communication takes place remotely, allowing us to collaborate regardless of location.

  • For international clients, payments can be made via PayPal, or a wider variety of payment methods if you are located inside Mexico.

Specific payment details are provided upon project approval.

  • For larger projects, payment schedules may be divided into multiple installments throughout the duration of the engagement.

Project timelines begin once the initial payment has been received.

  • That's more common than you might think.

Part of our role is helping identify the challenges, opportunities, and priorities of your brand before determining the most appropriate solution.

You don't need all the answers before reaching out.

  • No.

Branding can influence perception, differentiation, trust, and recognition, but no creative strategist or agency can ethically guarantee specific sales, revenue, or growth outcomes.

What we can guarantee is a thoughtful, strategic process grounded in research, positioning, and intentional design.

  • Because you're not paying for software.

You're investing in research, strategy, positioning, creative direction, experience, and discernment.

The deliverables may be visible, but the thinking behind them is where the real value is created.

  • We may not be the right fit.

Raw Satama specializes in branding systems rather than isolated design assets. While logos are part of the process, we believe meaningful identities are built through strategy, positioning, language, and visual design working together.

  • That's completely understandable.

Not every business needs professional branding on day one.

In fact, here's a piece of advice many studios won't give you:

If you're still validating your offer, finding customers, or generating your first consistent revenue, focus on that first.

Start selling. Learn your market. Get the business moving.

Branding becomes far more valuable once there is something worth amplifying.

When the time comes to refine your positioning, strengthen perception, and build a brand designed for long-term growth, the Atelier will be here.

A few months of waiting rarely hurt a business.

A rushed identity often costs far more to rebuild later.
